The danger of condoning sinful conduct is not so much that it promotes sin or inclines others do the same, although it does that, too, but more importantly if we think our conduct is acceptable to society and condone other sinful conduct, it is less likely that we will see that conduct as wrong and so we will continue to engage in that sinful conduct without remorse or repentance. Without repentance, sin is not forgiven, and there is the real and eternal danger in condoning it.
